Calling All Female Poker Players

UPDATE:

Maudie knocked him out with a runner-runner straight flush after he slowplayed top pair on the flop.

I ended up winning the tournament, so my $30 x 2 is going towards my local battered woman's shelter - I decided to make it an even $100.00 though. If anyone would like to donate, please contact me though the email link noted below. Thanks.

Original message:

There are times when I truly fear for the future of our game, and for humanity as we know it. Ladies, take a minute and read the blog linked below. You may have to read the full two-months of archives, but it is well worth knowing the entire contents. (Note: I have removed the link since I agree with a good friend that he doesn't need any more publicity than he has already received. However, I am leaving the rest of the post intact. Just know that he is someone who contributes to the misogyny and abuse of women in this world. )

Is this a farce? There is that possibility, and I truly hope that we find out at a later date that it was all a joke. However, I am fairly certain (and sad to say) that it isn't, and that is where all of you come in.

Tonight at PokerStars we have challenged him to a tournament.

I'll be honest - I don't want to play. I have no desire to give this person a moment of my time and he certainly doesn't deserve any recognition that may come from this. I have nothing to prove to myself, and regardless of the outcome I don't honestly believe that he will see anything in a different light. That said, I am too stubborn to stay away and will show up at the time of the game and do what I do.

What I do believe in is this - race, sex, age, and religion do not affect anyone's ability at the poker table. I also believe that women shouldn't be treated the way that they are described deep within his archives, and I will personally be donating (and doubling) any of my winnings to my local battered women's shelter.

That is why I am doing this.

If you want to donate as well, please contact me through this email link
