
As you may know, the L.A. Poker Classic is in full swing at the Commerce Casino in California. The series of tournaments began on January 19th, and will continue until the $10,000 buy-in Main Event which is scheduled for February 16th through the 21st.
This past weekend 270 players each paid $2,500 to take part in the 23rd event of the series, a NLHE match. The winner was California's own Kenna James, who claimed $242,251 and 972 Card Player Player of the Year (POY) points.
Coming in second place was none other than Michael Mizrachi - adding another $124,402 dollars to his already-significant 2006 earnings. Michael also earned gained another 810 POY points, further solidifying his lead and making his total 3954 for the year - and it is only halfway through February! The man is seriously on fire.
