Results for Eurofriendly Friday

Today's first WWdN Eurofriendly game was an intimate affair, drawing just 27 players, but a good time was had by all, including a final table that featured some prominent regulars, as well as a strong European contingent.

I flamed out in spectacular hammer dropping glory, when my beautiful hammer made middle pair on a Q-high flop, which unfortunately had given chompers66 top pair with AQs. Oops. IGHN in 24th.

But this game wasn't about me, it was about our good friends on the other side of the pond, who made up a mere 10% of the field, but accounted for 30% of the final table, thusly:

1: Zen Taff (Cwmbran)
2: change1OO (Los Angeles)
3: L Fudpill (Massillon)
4: Up4Poker (Lafayette)
5: Sires (Freiburg)
6: themissy (Seattle)
7: JeffSmith (medford)
8: Hughesers (Spencer)
9: CW21 (Georgetown)

Zen Taff, who came all the way from the vowel-challenged land of Wales (home to The Village, dontchaknow) went heads-up against Murderer's Row's own Change100, in an epic battle that had fans on both sides of the intercontinental divide rivited.

Okay, so maybe it was more like five people cheering on their local player, but go with me on this, okay?

Change had a huge chip lead at the beginning, but a Zen battled back to draw even, then take an equally large lead. On the final hand, Change got all the money in with a pair of jacks, which never caught up to Zen's flopped pair of queens. Hey, Change, we went out to the same pair, but at least you have some cash to show for it.

By all accounts, this was a good time for everyone involved, especially for me, because I actually cashed out of a ring game ahead for a change while the tourney was finishing up.

Thanks to everyone who played. I'll try to schedule one of these a month, so our European friends don't have to stay up all night like the rest of us degenerates.
