Does it feel like Friday to anyone else? No? Just me? That must mean it's actually Tuesday, and it's time for poker.

This is the first of three chances to play with me at PokerStars this week, with chance number two coming on Thursday for you West Coasters, and Friday for all our friends in Europe. (Check tourney -> private in the PokerStars lobby for information on the other two games.)

I'm not going to lie to you, Marge, I want to win this one, so I'm bringing my "CJ" game tonight, and leaving the "A" game in the other room with my dignity.

At this time, the only confirmed live blog of the hot, hot, hot action tonight is from Dan, at Coffee|Code, which wins a prize for coolest use of pipe in a blog title. (Sorry, Change100.)

5:28 PM (all times Pacific) - We have 97 players registered, making a prize pool 970. The final table will pay. I am seat 5 at table 13. Columbo, patrickjst, and nys1emt are all players I recognize at my table.

5:30 PM - Cards are out!

5:32 PM - Fucking QJ in the BB. Q on the flop, bet it most of the way, and lose to patrickjst who had KQ. What's that thing I read about trap hands?

5:34 PM - Sweet Chuck is live blogging at thoughtsofsweetchuck.blogspot.com.

5:38 PM - What's that thing I read about playing pots out of position?

5:39 PM - Just to ensure that everything is going according to plan, the one card that makes me a hand (two pair) gives Columbo a set. Thank gods I didn't go broke there.

All further updates will be in extended. (both of them, the way I'm playing)5:46 PM - Our tourney's namesake was just busted with AJ when he ran into KK. Ouch.

5:49 PM - Columbo just took down over T1300 with AKo vs AQs when he flopped a king. I don't know if mere mortals know how good Columbo is. Glad I have position on him.

5:51 PM - Shaper99 and patrickjst just chopped a pot when they both made Broadway with AK vs AK.

5:55 PM - Shaper99 was just busted when his 22 ran into QQ. I've been moved to seat 1 of table 2. Gracie and Iggy have position on me. Crap. WWdN Champion BrianMc is also here.

5:56 PM - primo_tenore just said that he invented these tourneys when we played the Katrina relief games. He says he suggested that we do this every Friday, and I said that I couldn't commit to that. Ah, remember when I had a life? This has resulted in several railbirds and other players commenting on the various things they invented, including PokerStars, snakes, and putting snakes on a plane.

6:01 PM - I love it when I fold a weak-but-suited king that would have flopped the second nuts.

6:02 PM - AA in MP. Raised to 3x BB. No callers. Next hand, I get TT in MP, call with a ton of limpers, but fold it when there's a big raise behind me. Normally, I'd like to call there (if I had enough chips to play if the flop was terrible) or push (if my M was low enough.) It's at times like this I hate getting stupid with trap hands, or out of position hands, because I don't have chips to use when I really need them.

6:08 PM - Raised it from the button with TT again. One caller, I fold when an A flops. I think the better play there would have been to push, and take my chances, rather than puss out on the flop.

6:13 PM - Well, that was nice and stupid. My M was 3, so I was looking for a hand. Apparently, I think that hand is Qbullshit in the SB, so I push into KJ, and lose. What a fucking donkey I am. Congratulations to primo_tenore, who had this idea in the first place, who finally gets a tourney named after him!
