I had a very lengthy conversation with The Blogfather himself this past weekend about playing online poker. He and I have quite different views about online tournament strategy, and it was truly an enlightening experience to hear another perspective.
By his request, I am going to post a series on my thoughts about online tournaments and how I became successful at them. Since this didn't magically happen overnight, there is a lot of ground to cover. So, for the next few days, my posts are going to consecutively chronicle my experience, thoughts, methodology, reasoning, and strategy.
It is important to note the following though:
It is not my intention to:
- Dictate how to play poker
- Convince anyone that my methods are correct over others
- Preach
It is my intention to:
- Share my knowledge about the game
- Discuss my theory about online tournament play
- Tell you what works for me, what doesn't, and why
- Provoke thought and discussion about the game, and possibly provide some insight into how others may view the game of poker
If you agree with what I write, great. If you disagree, that’s great too. That is what allows us to hear different perspectives, initiate thought, and provoke debate. I am not a teacher, and don’t claim to be one. I am a student of poker, and can learn as much from you as I hope you can from me.
