Though he has many great pieces of advice, one of the most beneficial is learning what your ‘Gulp Limit’ is. Consider what amount of money makes you, well, gulp, and you should go no higher. In short, this is buying into a table for an amount that you consider serious money, without crossing the line of being too much for you to afford.
Buying into a table for too little won’t allow you to take the game seriously, and buying in for too much will have you too concerned about losing it that it will affect your game. Over time, your bankroll and skill level will change, and you will find that your ‘gulp limit’ does as well. It is important to recognize this and adjust as necessary.
