Born in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 22, 1974, Chip Jett now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife, professional poker player Karina Jett, and their daughter. Chip began dealing poker on an Indian reservation in Arizona when he was 18, and began playing in Las Vegas when he turned 21.
Instantly recognizable by his slicked-back blond hair and trademark sunglasses, Chip Jett is one of the best tournament players in poker today. In 2000, Chip quit playing cash games to focus entirely on tournaments, which proved to be a wise choice.
In 2003, Chip placed second in the World Poker Tour’s Party Poker Million, earning $175,900 for his efforts. First place in the event went to Howard Lederer. He placed first in the Fourth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open, the California State Poker Championship, and the L.A. Poker Classic H.O.E. event, all in 2003.
Chip Jett is currently ranked #79 on Card Player Magazine’s 2005 Player of the Year standings.
