New online poker site PokerShare.com has offered small Kentucky town Sharer $100,000 if they change their name to PokerShare.com.
The tiny hamlet of Sharer does not have a mayor, city council, grocery store, or even a post office. Finding an official to consider the poker site's offer has proven somewhat difficult, though Butler County Judge-Executive Hugh Evans has strongly voiced his disapproval. He does not want the association with poker and gambling, stating that the area is very conservative.
Renaming has become a popular marketing strategy lately, and PokerShare.com is following in the footsteps of Golden Palace, who paid a woman to legally change her name to GoldenPalace.com. Recently, EchoStar Communications Corp. and it's Dish Network satellite TV service said they would provide free programming for ten years to all households in the first municipality to change its name "legally and permanently" to Dish.
If an agreement can’t be made with Sharer, they will move on to other towns in the United States with poker-related names, such as Bluff and Straight.

1. I wonder if they know that won't help their PageRank. :)
