I fell in love with poker because of the books I read about the game: Big Deal, Positively Fifth Street, and The Biggest Game In Town. I don't know why literature did such a number on me, but it was the same way with baseball: The Boys of Summer turned this casual fan into a radio-listening, score-keeping, fantasy-league-playing, total baseball geek.
Is there a book about football? Because I don't grok football, and I really feel like I'm missing out on something great.
Anyway, if you spend any amount of time around a poker player, you'll notice that the only thing we like doing more than sucking out on the river is talking about it. Or, if you're a blogger, writing about it.
It's no big secret that I'm a huge fan of Dr. Pauly and Otis. But today, I'd like to point you, dear CardSquad reader, to another a blog that is consistently fantastic: The Obituarium, penned by Mr. Joe Speaker.
Just as it's easiest to become a fan of a team when they're whomping it up in the playoffs, I chose today to introduce you to The Obituarium, because . . . well, just read it, and see if you don't agree.
